Blog Categories - WHY?

What's the difference in these two categories? They both show up on the main blog, but I see in the blog preview you can limit it to either category or both. That's what I want on my main blog. Only general to show, not both.

    I'm not 100% sure what you are asking. If you are asking why their would be two categories, that would be because it helps sites with the need to sort information on different subject matter.

    I see. I was hoping that members could post a blog and that they could choose the visibility of it. IE, the whole site, only viewers of their page, their friends, etc.
