I have been using Spruz since June 2009 and I continue to use it's services for latest my website themcdougalbugle.com. I haven't seen much activity or updates in the managment area recently or blog posts from the Owner's Community blog and was just wondering if Spruz is something that will be around many years from now or if it will still update features and such. I'm about to redesign my site and try to really get the ball rolling again on my podcast and video shows, editorials and news posting and I wouldn't want to put the work in only for the platform I use to shut down or anything like that. And if that ever happens, anyway I can transfer all my Spruz content and user data somewhere so I won't loose a single word or member? And can the Spruz owners get plenty of notice. As I said, I'm a longtime user of Spruz and there's a reaosn Iv'e stuck with it all these years from their user-friendly and broad features to their reasonable pricing.
So just a concern I wanted to voice. But my main dilemna at the moment is in regards to my videos. Since I created my first Soruz website, I have used another video hosting service to upload my videos and I have been embedding the videos using the embed code option when posting videos. The problem I am having right now is the service I was using (blip.tv) changed their terms of content and deleted a plathora of users based on a variety of reasons. This article goes as it's a very widespread action (http://gigaom.com/2013/12/02/shrinking-pains-blip-upsets-publishers-by-deleting-countless-videos/). Sadly, my account fell victum to their deletion spree. Thus, the videos I uploaded to their platform were deleted along with my account. So now, whenever members of my Spruz site go to watch one of my videos, there is no video, just a black box that says something along the lines of, "Sorry, this video is no longer avaible." I can't edit the embed codes on any of the videos Iv'e posted and I know I can't. I could delete all my videos, but I would also loose the history of their original post dates, the comments, the viewcount etc. Can you please, if you have any connections or if it's your power, add some way for Spruz owners to edit the embed code of their videos and edit the post date like I can currently do with the blog posts? Like in regard to that last part, for my blog entires, I can change the date that appears as the day/time of post for the entry. Can you make it so I can do that with videos? This would help me a great deal with my bussiness going forward. Also, I am totally willing to pay extra a month if that's what it takes. I can pay an extra 10 dollars a month if that works. I'm the admin of my site (Level 9). If it has to be a admin-only option, then that could work. And I figured you might have the control to possibly make that happen. I know a long time ago, I shared some ideas (video and blog categories and sub-categories) and some other Spruz users thought that was a worthy option and then that became a possiblity. So just holding out hope something similar could be a possiblity for the video feature. The freedom and possibilities site admins of sites powered by the Spruz platform have is one of the reasons that made me such a fan of Spruz in the first place and I don't see any reason why that wouldn't be a good option for Spruz owners to have. Again, I can pay extra for the feature.
