This is because we learn to like a taste when our brain associates it with calories. The more often you eat something and get to know the taste in this way, the more your body associates it with calories, and the better you find it. A food that you know well, think of coke or chocolate, will increase your set point. A food that you do not know or that has little taste will lower your set point.
