Recent Blog Feature on Home Page

I would LOVE to change this so that it actually shows the blog post and not just the title link.  Is there a way to do that?  I don't want to make the Blog page the home page because I only want NEWS to show up on the home page and I also want others to see recent activity and photos, etc.

    You'd use the blog preview element instead, and set it recent in the settings. You are also able to pick a specific category to show. It should work out well for you.
