Shaper is perfect for Bear Trap. You can set up four or five traps while he's talking, and they're pure single target. Plus this expansion had good items for physical-based skills and there's enough pure trap and physical damage to make up for the fact that nothing else scales Bear Trap, and you get this.
I'm assuming EK Nova or Bladefall traps for clear so that you can preserve the same scaling, but trap damage doesn't really care what you're using.
You dont need a mirror worthy one to exceed the power of a disfavor or starforge. Typically in 10ex of chaos spams you should hit T2+ double prefix on the scepter, get penetration from implicit and craft crit multi. I know its anecdotal but in about 3,000 chaos I have created 4 80%+ added as scepters. I dont think daggers or foils are much different and the latter have multi as implicit as well.
I think they will restrict the rolls to 1 added as roll per item.
Its a really bad patch for anything that a)cant use a stat stick or even 2 b)doesnt have physical base scaling. For attacks, this means its great for weapon-specific skills like sunder reave or bladeflurry, for spells it means we are in a blade vortex/EK/bladefall/bear trap meta. two handed attack builds' main benefit is Kaoms Heart, that used to be a huge differentiator. This is less and less the case due to hybrid life rolls on rares, flat life from abyss jewels and the amount of damage currently available meaning you can just jib all content on a 4k life build anyway. On crit builds, you may even want the base crit on an shaper or elder chest anyway, so you can drop ICS gem for conc effect/ele focus or some other obtuse multiplier.
Bow skills are somewhere in between because they can have the added as on quivers and a 6L. I'd say they're "balanced" in the context of 3.1.
If they leave these stat sticks in the game they need to buff all 2hd base weapon types by 20-30%. Right now a shaped siege axe with 500 pdps and a 100% added as stat stick will have the equivalent dps of a 800 pdps weapon for most skills.
