New England Patriots' quarterback Tom Brady said going into the NFL divisional playoff game against the Indianapolis Colts that he would not concern himself with Colts' QB Andrew Luck. That's understandable, considering Brady could have his hands full in Foxborough at Gillette Stadium with linebacker Robert Mathis. Andrew Luck's pa s intended for LaVon Brazill is picked off by Alfonzo Dennard and returned 27 yards to the 2. Luck acutally made the touchdown-saving touchdown, but it was just a formality. LeGarrette Blount finishes the busine s as the Patriots jump ahead early. Patriots 7, Colts 0 . We're halfway through the first quarter and Blount has two touchdowns. With Brady connecting with Julian Edelman and Danny Amendola, and sprinkling in plays from Shane Vereen and Blount, the Patriots faced little resistance in marching down for a score to cap a 74-yard drive with 7:17 left in the quarter. Patriots 14, Colts 0 Robbie Gould Jersey . You didn't think Luck would cower did you? He hits Brazill for a beutiful over-the-shoulder 38 yard touchdown. A 9-yard pa s to Coby Fleener on third-and-3 kept the drive aloive. On third and 6, he found Griff Whalen for 22 yards more. Patriots 14, Colts 7 .SECOND QUARTER: No Rob Gronkowski? The Patriots will just find another way. That means more Edelman and more Amendola. More Blount and and Vereen and Steven Ridley. If you're suited up, you have to play and come through for the Patriots and that's what they've done all year. They're doing it now, too. After Edelman's big punt return, the Patriots shoved it down the Colts' throats. That got the ball to the 2. That's close enough for Blount to leap over the pile and score for the third time in this game with 10:54 left. Patriots 21, Colts 7 . T.Y. Hilton comes up gimpy on a third down play and can't haul in Luck's pa s. Adam Vinatieri's 36-yard field goal is true, though, and the Colts stay within reach with 5:35 left in the first half. Patriots 21, Colts 10 . You have to know that Bill Belichick likely just blew a Zane Beadles Jersey gasket. After deciding at the last second to punt instead of go for it on fourth down, the Patriots could not get the snap off in time and were flagged for delay of game. Then it got worse. The long snapper, Danny Aiken, sailed the ball well over the head of punter Ryan Allen's head. He corralled it at the 2, but was quickly wrapped up, fumbling the ball before it squirted out of the back of the end zone for a safety. Patriots 21, Colts 12 . Luck's pa s to Stanley Havilli bounced off his back shoulderand right into the hands of Dont'a Hightower. It's not the way the Colts' wanted to end the half; it wasn't entirely Luck's fault, either.HALFTIME Andrew Luck (11 of 21 for 155 yards and one touchdown) has more completions and more yards, but he also has more turnovers (2 interceptions) than Tom Brady (7 of 11 for 101 yards). LeGarette Blount has three touchdowns for the Patriots, who have out-rushed the Colts, 80 yards to 35.THIRD QUARTER Ryan Allen punted 61 yards and immediately clutched his shoulderthe shoulder he injured on that botched punt attempt. He's questionable to return. T.Y. Hilton runs a spectacular route to leak behind the coverage and bring down a perfect dart from Luck. Coby Fleener piggybacks on that with a 16-yard catch of his own. The Colts tried three times to punch in into the end zone, twice on run plays and once on a jump ball to Fleener, but came up empty. A field goal would have to do with 10:03 left. Patriots 21, Colts 15. Ridley puts a lid on the 88-yard drive with a 3-yard touchdown, and then fights his way in for a 2-point conversion. Darius Butler was penalized for unnece sary roughtne s, but the damage was already done. Patriots 29, Colts 15 with 6:18 left. Win or lose, we're seeing the brilliance of Luck. Simply put, there isn't a throw he can't make. Luck exploits every coverage breakdown and gets ball perfectly place to his receiv=versin this case, Hilton and Brazill for 46 and 35 yards respetictively. It feels like the Patriots are dominating, but the Colts are only a touchdown back. Patriots 29, Colts 22 with 5:01 left.FOURTH QUARTER The Colts' first chance to close the gap fell flat after Luck was tripped up on a run attempt and his pa s to Brazill was out of reach. Joe Staley Jersey The Patriots are the kind of team that will make you pay for squandered opportunities. Like when Blount goes 73 yards for a touchdownhis fourth of the day. There was nothing trick about it. He patiently waited on a crease in the first level, gets by LaRon Landry and runs for his life the rest of the way. It's easily the greatest day of his profe sional career, and he's the biggest nightmare right now for the Colts. Stephen Gostowkski's is the icing. Blount is now within Ricky Waters' record of five postseason rushing touchdowns. Patriots 36, Colts 22 with 12:55 left. Luck threw four interceptions in a win over Kansas City Chiefs. It was unlikely and incredible. But the Chiefs didn't have starting running back, Jamaal Charles, down the stretch as he was injured in the first quarter. The Colts had a better chance of recovering. This week, Luck has now thrown it away three times, and the Patriots aren't going to let Luck get away with it. Jamie Collins picks off Luck's pa s and Will Redmond Jersey it took only five plays for New England to turn it into a touchdown. Ridley scores from 1 yard out at the 11:12 mark. Patriots 43, Colts 22. Luck to ses is fourth interception with only seconds left. The game ended the way it beganwith Luck turning it over. The Patriots now will either host San Diego or travel to Denver.PREVIEW No one is seriously considering Bill Belichick for coach of the year, but why not? The Patriots have dealt with as much adversity (Aaron Hernandez) and major injuries (Rob Gronkowski) as many of their contenders. Through it all, Brady has stood tall and delivered to a group of young and inexperienced receivers. They've found ways to stay in the hunt despite failing to dominate anywhere. They are consistent and, well, well coached. The Colts, on the other hand, were the first to clinch a division title. They've won big and been blown out. They've been up and they have been down. Who knows what will happen on Saturday night? One thing is certain: Luck isn't going to back down. The Colts, with Peyton Manning, and the Patriots have had many duels. It's time to see if Luck can build on his reputation as Manning's elite succe sor.Note: Colts' newly signed receiever Deion Branch is inactive for the game.
