My shoutbox still won't let people who are not on my friends list post even after allowing anyone to send messages to me.

I go to my website and set my privacy settings about who can send me messages to "Anyone", and saved the settings. But after saving the settings I see that it's telling the other people who are not on my friends list yet that only my friends can post on my shoutbox. Why is this happening? Is this a limitation of a free website? Or could this be a program for the shoutbox? (that only friends can post to my shoutbox even after allowing anyone to send me messages). Even other people who go to my free website experienced this about their shoutbox not allowing others who are not on their friend list post even after they set their settings so anyone can send them messages and saved the setting.

  • It depends on where you are setting the privacy at. If you are doing it within the links under your profile picture, then it only controls private messages. For the "shoutbox/comment box", you need to click on the edit icon on the right of the shoutbox itself, and then set the privacy settings from there.
