I want to alter the welcome bar

I would like to remove the MY FEED, PROFILE and INBOX  links from the welcome bar. Is that possible? Or is it possible to remove it altogether - though there would need to be a logout button somewhere else.

  • Yes, you click on manage site, settings, content templates, login menu templates, and then in the box at the bottom titled "Menu Displayed for Members", you'll see where the coding is for your welcome link and links.

You can move the welcome line itself by clicking on manage site, appearance, customize, welcome/signup bar, and then use the direction arrow with the word position by it, to change it's position around.

  • Hmm. So I removed the MY FEED and PROFILE links. I added a FEED link to my NAV bar. I am using your Friend Feed plug-in Randy. Without the feed link in the welcome bar, nothing loads in the friend feed element. But when I click my new feed navigation link, and after it takes me there, and then I go home again, I have my original 4-link welcome bar back and the friend feed element is functional again. Any thoughts?

  • Ok, to rectify. Spruz was being very slow, that was the reason the plug in wasn't loading up. But there is still the issue that if I alter the links in the welcome bar and then go the MY FEED page via a link, the original welcome bar is back, and follows me back to the home page.
