How to make a top level tab that is not its own page

Our site includes a 'menu' built from tabs and sub-tabs. I've found, however, that when a top level tab has sub-tabs beneath it, then users do not realize that the top level tab is also a page. The result is that they don't find things that they should be able to find. Is there a way to make it so the top level tab acts more like a top level menu? For example, if you're in a relatively standard desktop applicatoin, the 'File' option does nothing on its own - it just serves as a way to get to its sub-menu items (New, Open, Save, etc). I suppose a workaround is to build a page for that top level tab that simply contains links to the sub-tabs listed under the tab, but that seems a bit kludgy to me.

  • There isn't currently a way to create an inactive link in the management tools, but I do know what you are aiming to do. It can however be done with some javascript work.
