Cropping so thumbnail photos look right

How do I designate which square portion of a photo from my photo gallery will show up in the thumbnails on the home page and photo page?  Even when I put in a perfectly square photo the website seems to arbitrarily choose a smaller square to show.   Thanks for offering any suggestions. Many other users will be uploading their photos to our side so I don't want them to be frustrated by how they look!  Thanks for any suggestions.

  • There isn't a setting that allows for the photos to be cropped a certain way. The best thing you could do would be to "suggest" what would be a good size that generally tends to look well.

  • Hi Randy... but what happens is when I upload a correctly sized and shaped photo, a much smaller square within that photo (e.g. half of someone´s face)  shows up as the thumbnail.  That has not happened to me when uploading to other types of sites so am trying to have either 1) the thumbnail be just a smaller version of the correctly sized square photo or 2) choose which square gets selected. Maybe there´s a bug on our site?

Thanks for any more suggestions you can offer. Kristin
