The problem with storylines is that a) some people just don really care about it (Orbiter takes this to an extreme), and b) if you create a complex storyline game sequence that you think is going to take 3 months for anyone to finish, someone will finish it in 3 days and then complain that your game is boring and there nothing else to do..
