Android

When I add a blog entry using my tablet there's no options to change fonts, add photos etc. The entire box with all these options that's usually above the writing space is missing. Is there a way of accessing this if working on an android device?

  • There isn't a way to make the editor icons appear, that I'm aware of. I don't use android, and prefer the business feel of Windows products, but on both phone and tablets those icons are missing for me as well. I've been told that the mobile experience is an area of future focus, so we'lll see what the future holds.

  • No news on this subject yet? I have the same problem and my members start asking questions about this. They dont use desktop or laptops anymore and so they cant post pictures in the blogs. i hope there will be a solution soon. It doesn't have to be a full editor. Just a add picture option would be fine. Regards kevin

  • I never access a server using a phone, tablet or try to edit a site that way, so I guess this all went over my head. Spruz likely will or has addressed the issue and I'll have to make a note to check this. The missing options are an iritation one really doesn't need.

Going to the site http://swifties.spruz.com/ on an Android tablet, the first thing I notice is that the public nav bar is not displayed in vertical mode. Turning to horizontal display, the public menu pops into view. In programming for a mobile device, one needs to keep this feature in mind. It's not usually an issue with desktop or laptop devices. I'll post to this as I go along, and find time to look at the issue.

Using an Android tablet with the default Android browser Chrome in horizontal mode, I attempt to edit this post. I notice that the editor immediately comes up with Source mode activated. In this mode only [source], [maximize] and [select all] buttons are active. The editor button panel itself is not to be found. As long as we are in this mode, the editor panel is not useful for most of the editor's functions.

This is the span element which contains the editor toolbar:

This is apparently not displayed in the mobile Spruz version page.

  • Interesting that mobile Android allows you to edit HTML source in your post, but the desktop editor will not. We may be looking at an entirely different editor for the mobile version page. At this point I would not be looking for the editor buttons to appear. They may not even exist in the mobile version. This is an issue Spruz programmers will have to deal with.
