The other part of getting six pack abs that you'll need to follow closely is the exercise and weight lifting aspect. While it is true that you don't have to spend years going to the gym before you achieve significant and noticeable results, you do have to go regularly for at least a few weeks before noticing a difference in your body. In the end you will be glad that you buckled down and took the time to follow this very effective method that has worked for millions of people. You know, for the class reunion that crept up on you a bit faster than you thought it would, or for that upcoming vacation in Hawaii (where you'll be wearing a bikini...)

I'm a working mom and with little kids and a full-time job I have little time to take care of myself, let alone work out, so I totally know how you feel. I've tried just about every workout program out there (even joined Curves and the "other" local woman's gym) and been on all the fad diets like that Miami Beach diet, Atkins, Cabbage Soup... you name it. But nothing really worked for me, because I ended up quitting before I saw any results.Let's face it, most people will drop out, whether it's a diet or a workout program, within the first couple of months (I've heard gyms actually count on a drop out rate of 20 - 30% within the first 90 days).

I never really ate much at McDonald's or Burger King, but I did go to the local Chinese fast food restaurant. Wow, I never realized how many calories were in fried rice alone! If you're going to eat a quick lunch, grab one of the low-calorie sandwiches at Subway (and get whole wheat bread). Just make sure you get enough protein, in addition to good carbs.Another one that was really difficult for me, because I never ate breakfast (never felt hungry). But I forced myself to eat every morning and now I can't not eat breakfast. The advice I received was to eat one portion of protein plus some "good" carbs like oatmeal (plain with low calorie sweetener).

Yet another tough one for me. I rarely ate more than two or three times a day. Now I was forced to eat at least five! But I persevered and once I got into the routine I was actually hungry all the time (so it made it easy for me to eat). This was a tough one for me (and I even have a dog). But I forced myself to take my dog out for a walk every single evening (about a mile and a half). And after a few weeks I felt guilty when I didn't take him... which was incentive enough for me to keep going.A word of warning (or advice): You have probably heard all of this before. But if you actually apply yourself and don't cheat on any of these items it is near impossible to keep your weight. Also, this is not medical advice and I am not a dietician (or a fitness trainer). I am just relaying my experiences using the "common" boring advice you hear so often.
